"Grampus"

Wilda “Bunny” Lundburg has been boating for most of her life.  Bunny and her husband, Oliver purchased their first boat in 1957.  They discovered Willow Berm while visiting friends in ’63 and became official Willow Berm tenants in 1967 when they purchased a 42’ Chris.  “Paragrine” was christened and thus began the many adventures of the Lundborg family.

During those days Willow Berm was filled with families and lots of kids playing in and around the marina.  Bunny, Oliver and their three daughters would make the trek from their home in San Francisco almost every weekend during the summer.  Even the floods of 1971 couldn’t keep them away as they traveled the back roads to get to their “second home” in the Delta.

In 1981, they purchased a brand new 38’ Chris!  The proud owners named this boat “Grampus”. Bunny and Oliver joined Delta Yacht Club and were very active members for 15 years.

When Oliver passed away in 1992, Bunny decided she did not want to give up boating.  So she and her friend, Jack Glasner, took a Coast Guard class to learn how to operate her boat.  Now Bunny and Jack love to take the boat and anchor out at some of their favorite spots around the Delta.

Wilda “Bunny” Lundborg has been at Willow Berm longer than any other tenant.  She has so many great stories.  Bunny says that she can’t imagine herself any other place.  It’s becomeso much a part of her.  She loves to reminisce about the “old days” but says that she relishes the way Willow Berm has become more and more beautiful over the years.  That and the wonderful, friendly people keep her coming back time and time again.

The family tradition continues with all three of Bunny’s daughters and their families.  They and their families own their own boats.  But they always find time to come visit and reminisce about all the great times they have had in the Delta and especially at Willow Berm Marina!
