"Dos Winos"

Harold & Adrienne Montgomery are new to Willow Berm but certainly not new to the Delta or to boating. Harold started coming to the Delta when he was 16. He and his buddies would bring their fishing boat up from Sacramento and try to talk Lloyd Korth out of launching fees at Korth’s Pirates’ Lair. Harold even started the Sacramento “Fish-a-thon” Fishing Club back in the early days. These crazy bunch of guys would spend 4 days fishing without sleeping. If anyone did fall asleep, they would get thrown in the water!

Adrienne, a native of Wisconsin, never dreamed she would be spending so much of her time on boats in the Delta. But soon after they were married, they began the first of many of their adventures in boating. Their first boat in 1988 was a 25’ Sea Ray which they kept at Paradise Point. Then, in 1992 they moved up to a 35’ Fiberform. They actually spent some time at Willow Berm on G dock before moving on to Riverboat.

In 2001 Harold retired and they decided they wanted to do some traveling and exploring on land so they traded their boat for a motor home. For several years they motored all around the U.S., through the south, up the east coast and over the northern states.

In 2009 Harold and Adrienne decided they needed to get back into boating so the search began for the perfect boat. After looking at every houseboat that was on the market for over a year, they finally found the boat of their dreams. A big beautiful 2004 Catamaran Cruiser was just waiting to be found. It took them no time at all to know that this 50’ houseboat was the one for them. Christened “Dos Winos”, their roomy houseboat is all one level and makes them feel like they’re living in a condo on the water.

They spent their first five months at Ox Bow Marina until a spot opened up at Willow Berm. Now, as Adrienne says, “they have finally come home.” They love Willow Berm for many reasons. The location with its easy access to fast water makes it ideal for cruising out. Besides having several friends here already, they love the friendliness of the staff and other tenants. Adrienne also appreciates the beautiful setting of the marina and the great workout room.

They are looking forward to spending a lot of time this summer at their new Willow Berm “Home” and cruising the Delta once again!
